Welcome to the GLEC English Language Arts Department!

At Gregory-Lincoln Education Center, our English Language Arts program is dedicated to strengthening students’ reading and writing skills while fostering a genuine appreciation for the power and beauty of language.

Embedded within our instruction are targeted ESL strategies designed to support English language learners in acquiring academic language and developing fluency. We recognize and celebrate the cultural diversity of our student body and are committed to helping students become confident English speakers, readers, and writers—while also honoring and preserving their native languages and cultural identities.

Through a balanced approach that includes reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language study, our students grow into thoughtful communicators and critical thinkers prepared for success across all content areas and in life beyond the classroom.
